God is our refuge and strength (mighty and impenetrable), a very present and well-proved help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken and slip into the midst of the seas. Though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah (pause, and calmly think of that). There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy dwelling places of the Most High. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God will help her when the morning dawns….
Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Psalm 46:1-11
God spoke everything into existence. He knew we would be right here, today, facing all that we are facing. He knew those soccer players/coach would be stranded. He knew someone would be facing death. He knew the volcanoes would erupt. He knew the earthquakes would happen, the tsunamis would come. HE KNEW, yet He allowed it. We may not understand why, but we don’t have to. He is God and He works all things for good. Because He is our Refuge and Strength, our Help in trouble, there is NEVER any reason to fear. The enemy lies to us to make us believe we are alone. It’s a lie….period. He will never leave us or forsake us…ever.
Be still, and know… looking this up, it means be quiet, let go, to relax, to refrain. Trust God, He’s got it.
