What’s happening at River’s Edge Global Missions?

In 2005 led by the Holy Spirit David first traveled to Kenya. This was the first of many trips over the years working with pastors throughout Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Burkini Faso, Burundi, and other African nations. Upon returning from Kenya both David and Stefanie in 2009 planted a church in the metro Atlanta area. While doing everything “humanly” possible to grow the church, using the term, “humanly” as that is a very important and key factor. Many have suffered as a result of pursuing “their calling” which is a cultural term not biblical. In 2018 we took the time to pursue the Lord and listen to Him. At first realizing our marriage is our first calling. This is something I would say to any pastor starting out with a passion to serve God. We best serve Him in serving our spouse and family. We best serve Him in serving our spouse and family.
To truly serve God I have learned that foremost our marriage must be all that God has called and willed it to be. Marriage is an exact manifestation and representation of our relationship with Jesus. Submitted, serving, selfless, and sacrificial even unto death. I shared with our faith family in this past December the diagnosis of our marriage and that for the first time, our marriage would be first. I have learned that in order for something to be resurrected it must first die. And of this, I am speaking of self, or ministry, and of calling. We do not need to chase after, pursue, find our calling. It is not lost. Like Samuel, we must learn to listen, hear, and respond to the Fathers voice.
